A very interesting feature of the game is that if you don't use the console / gameplay cheat, none of the sims can be born. If you just want to play the game, using a cheat can save you a lot of time.

I have been asked why the new sounds can be heard more than once. There are no new sound objects. There are just new sounds. The base game, when new sounds are played, will search the save and add them to its sound database. All saved sounds play exactly the same, so when you play a new sound while the game is saved, it will have a better chance to be added to the database. Between saved games they can play the same sounds multiple times. When you play a new sound not in your save (like recordings in the new add-ons) it will always be added to the database.
