Husbands in Goa is a comedy that deals with three married couples. The movie revolves around three grooms, they are Govind (Jayasurya), Jerry (Indrajith) and Arjun (Asif Ali) who are on a trip to Goa. They are married to three very dominating wives who never let them have any peace of mind. During their trip in Goa, they meet Sunny who is on the verge of a divorce. Sunny hooks up with them and the rest of the story is about how their wives find out and what happens next. The comedy in the movie revolves around the fact that no one can tell whether the husband is the best man or the worst man in the world.

In the movie, Mukundan Menon (Jayaram) is a mild, innocent man who gets along with his wife Krishnendu (Bhavana) and their children, and is close to his family. His wife is dominating and abusive to him and his family. While he is always doubtful about his wife, and is always suspicious about his wife's intentions, he is always willing to do anything he is told to do. He accepts everything that his wife says or does but makes his life miserable. When he finds out that his wife is having a relationship with a younger man, he leaves the house and takes his children along with him. Krishnenedu is always suspicious of his wife and always believes whatever his wife says or does. While she is always convinced that her husband is having an affair with someone, she never finds out who it is. One day while coming back from the market, she finds a letter on the table stating that she is having an affair with someone named Sunny. She immediately rushes to the bedroom and finds that it is true. She shouts at her husband and makes him promise not to see the person.
